Come home and clear your name – Franklin Cudjoe begs Ken Ofori-Atta

Franklin Cudjoe has made a public appeal to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, urging him to return to Ghana and clear his name amid allegations of financial misconduct.

In an open message shared online and sighted by Lovinghananews, the IMANI Africa president wrote, “My dear friend, former Finance Minister, please come home and defend your name against accusations of grand theft and financial recklessness. No one will persecute you. I will make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Cudjoe continued, “Others with whom you served and are far beneath you in terms of stature are braving through their alleged crimes. Please honour the tradition of your political philosophy and personal integrity and come and clear your name. Amen.”

Ken Ofori-Atta, who served as Finance Minister in Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, is currently being sought by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) after failing to appear before investigators.

The OSP declared him wanted earlier this year over alleged corruption and related offences, later initiating efforts to seek international assistance for his arrest.

The investigations reportedly focus on a series of controversial contracts and the handling of public funds during his tenure.

Among the cases under scrutiny are a revenue-assurance deal between the Ghana Revenue Authority and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited, the use of funds allocated to the National Cathedral project, and other procurement-related transactions said to have involved financial irregularities.
