    Ghanaian artiste Epixode’s single ‘Choobio’ has earned Grammy consideration, spotlighting Ghana’s fight against illegal mining on the global stage.

    The song, which tackles the devastating impact of illegal mining, locally known as ‘galamsey,’ has been submitted for nomination at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

    More than just a catchy tune, ‘Choobio’ delivers a sobering message about the destruction of farmlands, contamination of rivers and erosion of livelihoods caused by unchecked mining practices.

    Speaking on the recognition, Epixode said: “Getting Grammy consideration is a huge step, but more importantly, it means the world is listening to our story, the story of what galamsey is doing to our people and our land.”

    A music executive Babiee Dapaah took to Instagram to share screenshots of Epixode’s entry in the Grammys, and she wrote;

    “CHOOBOI … ✊🏾. We just doing #MUSICFORGOOD .. treat us kindly 😄.
    Let’s celebrate wins and not stain it.
    This is no gěnôcidê. Plenty no dey spoil soup. #ONEGHANA.
    Our loyalty is to God and those that love us, however small they are or who they are.
    Thank you Ghana. “
