The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Honourable Faustilove Appiah Kannin, has announced that the Awurade Basa Basic School is set to undergo a major facelift to provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils and staff.
The renovation forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the municipality. It will also include the completion of a stalled six-unit classroom block at the New Nsuta Basic School, as well as repair works on the perimeter walls of the New Nsuta Cluster of Schools to enhance security for both pupils and teachers.
During a working visit to both schools, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin assured staff that the projects would be completed soon. She disclosed that in addition to the ongoing classroom works, the Assembly will provide a mechanized borehole and modern washroom facilities to improve sanitation and access to water in the schools.
“At Awurade Basa, the six-unit classroom block will undergo a major renovation, and we will also refurbish the kitchen and canteen facilities,” the MCE stated. She added that these interventions are part of the 2026 budget of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly and will be implemented once approval and contract awards are completed.
Hon. Faustilove reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to promoting quality education in the Municipality, emphasizing that well-equipped and safe school environments remain a top priority for her administration.
