Deputy CEO of the GTA, Abeiku Santana, says Ghana’s unique blend of peace, warmth and hospitality continues to make the country the preferred holiday destination for Africans in the diaspora.

He described “December in GH” as a “diasporan homecoming festival” that has positioned Ghana as the leading Christmas hub in Africa.

Speaking on Joy Prime monitored by Source:Lovinghananews
, he pointed out that the United States remains Ghana’s number one source market, and the country’s appeal goes beyond attractions.

“We might not have wildlife adventures like East or Southern Africa, but the peace and friendliness here cannot be found anywhere,” he said.

To illustrate this, he referenced the now-popular incident involving American rapper Meek Mill, who lost his phone during a visit and later recovered it.

“Where in Africa have you heard a celebrity losing a phone and getting it back? Only Ghana,” Santana stressed.

He added that the introduction of direct flights from Atlanta to Accra will further strengthen diaspora access, reducing travel time and cost while encouraging repeat visits.

Santana urged Ghanaians to embrace the season and support national tourism efforts. “Experience Ghana, eat Ghana, drink Ghana, touch Ghana, do everything Ghana,” he said, encouraging full participation in the festive activities.
