President John Dramani Mahama has stated that Ghana’s international image has been significantly enhanced by the country’s world-acclaimed Reset Agenda, describing it as a transformative initiative that is reshaping governance both at home and abroad.

Addressing Ghanaians in his New Year Message on Thursday, January 1, President Mahama noted that the Reset Agenda is restoring confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions.

“My countrymen and women, Ghana’s image in the international community has been positively
boosted by our world-acclaimed Reset Agenda. This Reset involves a new way of looking at
things both domesrtically and globally,” he said.

He added that “Domestically, our Reset Agenda is seeing a resurgence of faith in our democracy. It is delivering a leaner and more efficient administration, ensuring greater accountability in government, and reenergising the fight against corruption.”
On the global front, President Mahama revealed that he used Ghana’s participation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly to articulate the country’s broader vision to the international community.

“The Accra Reset Initiative is a comprehensive framework for the sustainable transformation of our global governance system. This vision will address inequalities in the current global system and reset it to create greater opportunities for Africa and other countries in the Global South,” he added.
President Mahama said Ghana’s call for a global reset is aimed at tackling the interconnected challenges facing the world today, including inequality, underrepresentation, and structural imbalances in global decision-making.
