In a hard-hitting 78-second clip that is now going viral, veteran journalist and Middle East expert ‘Geraldo Rivera, has sounded a serious alarm about the ongoing United States military operation against Iran.
Speaking on NewsNation, Rivera — who has decades of experience reporting from conflict zones — described the situation as highly unpredictable and warned that America is already sliding down a dangerous path.
“We’ve already started to slide on it,” Rivera said, calling the conflict a “slippery slope” filled with “kinetic” clashes that nobody can fully control.
He pointed to the human cost: ‘at least 13 American service members have already been killed, in Operation Epic Fury.
Rivera urged Congress to immediately block the Pentagon’s new request for another $200 billion in funding to keep the operation going. He argued that pouring more money into the war will only make things worse.
“The longer this goes on, the worse the news gets,” the veteran journalist stressed.
Rivera explained that Iranian forces are desperate and determined to strike back, especially by trying to disrupt U.S. naval forces in the vital oil-rich region. He warned that the fighting is driven by control of oil routes and could quickly spiral out of control.
The comments come as the Trump administration, led by War Secretary Pete Hegseth, continues to push for strong action to destroy Iran’s missile and drone capabilities, neutralize its navy, and stop any nuclear weapons development.
Rivera’s message is clear: America must think twice before committing even more lives and billions of dollars to a conflict that is becoming harder to predict every day.
This powerful clip is being shared widely as a “truth bomb” amid growing debate in Washington about how long the U.S. should stay involved.
