The Government of Ghana has called on citizens to submit messages of condolence and tributes in honour of the eight individuals who lost their lives in the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash.

In a statement issued by the Presidency on Monday, August 11, the Funeral Planning Committee invited individuals, institutions, and the general public to send heartfelt messages for inclusion in the official funeral brochure.

Submissions are to be emailed to tributes@presidency.gov.gh by Wednesday, August 13, at noon GMT.

The state funeral for the victims will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Black Star Square in Accra, starting at 8:00 a.m.

“May their courage, dedication, and spirit inspire us all to continue striving for a stronger, more united, and prosperous Ghana,” the statement, signed by Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, read.

The eight victims, described as patriots who served the nation with distinction, died when their helicopter went down in the Ashanti Region.
