Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk, once surprised coworkers by boasting about his long-range shooting skills.
A former colleague recalled working alongside Robinson in 2023 at a St. George, Utah, construction site.
Usually quiet and withdrawn, Robinson lit up only when the topic of firearms came up. “He mentioned making a 450-yard shot,” the coworker said.
“It was one of the few times he ever showed real excitement.”
That memory resurfaced after Robinson was arrested for allegedly firing the rooftop shot that killed Kirk as he spoke to a crowd at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
The coworker, stunned by the news, said Robinson avoided politics and rarely spoke at all. “He was the last person I thought would do this.”
Authorities have described the killing as a targeted political assassination, though those who knew Robinson insist he never voiced political views.
One detail lingered in their minds, however; Robinson’s clenched fists, a habit visible both on the job site and in security footage from the night of the attack.
