Gospel musician Piesie Esther has firmly denied rumors of a rift with fellow artist Empress Gifty, following social media speculation about tension between the two award-winning musicians.
The clarification comes after a recent interview on Power FM where Piesie initially hesitated to name Empress Gifty as the winner of the 2025 Ghana Music Awards USA Artiste of the Year award. When asked if she had congratulated her colleague, Piesie noted that nobody had congratulated her when she won the Ghana Music Awards Europe Artiste of the Year in 2023.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Piesie explained her reluctance: “The reason I didn’t want to mention Empress’s name on Agyeman’s show was that when she won the award people said a lot about it. Some said she deserved it, others said otherwise. By God’s grace the controversy died down, so the moment you raise it again then you want it to escalate.”
The “M’asom Fo” hitmaker emphasized that there is no bad blood between them: “I don’t have any problem with Empress Gifty. I don’t know anyone who can boldly say I have an issue with him or her. It will not happen. I have a good relationship with Gifty. We talk.”
The gospel artist used the platform to promote her new song “Nyame Ye,” which she says is already resonating with music lovers across the country.
