Ashaiman fierce fire broke out on Thursday morning, April 23, 2026, destroying several shops around the popular 18 Junction area of Ashaiman Market.

Eyewitness videos circulating on social media show thick smoke and flames consuming wooden structures as traders watched helplessly. Fire service personnel rushed to the scene and worked hard to control the blaze, but not before significant property damage occurred.

Many traders have lost goods, equipment, and livelihoods built over years of hard work. No casualties have been reported so far, but the emotional and financial toll on affected families is heavy.

This incident adds to a worrying pattern of market fires in Ghana, often linked to wooden constructions, overloaded electrical connections, and tightly packed stalls that make firefighting difficult. Residents and commentators online are calling for better market planning, stricter safety standards, and improved access routes to prevent future disasters. ocal authorities and the Ghana National Fire Service are expected to provide more details soon, including the possible cause of the fire.

A fire outbreak has unfortunately engulfed several shops around Ashaiman Market, 18 Junction.

Fire service personnel were on-site to manage the blaze, but it led to extensive damage to properties in the area.
