Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team has formed an Anti-Election Rigging Response Squad to prevent any attempt to rig the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primary.

According to the team, there are signs that the election could be manipulated in favour of one candidate.

“Some prophets have indicated to us that if the election is conducted in a free and fair manner, Ken Ohene Agyapong will emerge the winner, but they caution us to put in place strict measures to stop any rigging.”

Joojo Rocky Obeng, Director of Elections for the Agyapong campaign, says the team has been set up in all 276 constituencies to protect the vote.

“Our leader, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, sent a strong signal to all stakeholders that no one should attempt rigging this election. We have set up this Response Team to enforce his command and desire for a free and fair election. So this is to ensure that nobody rigs the elections—we mean nobody.”

He added that the team believes Agyapong will win if the process is fair.

“If this election is free and fair, Kennedy Agyapong will win, we know that, but to protect the integrity of the polls, we need to ensure that the right things are done.”

NPP delegates will vote on January 31, 2026, to choose a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

The five candidates in the race are:

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Central
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Education Minister
Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Agric Minister
Kwabena Agyapong, former NPP General Secretary
