Israel Laryea, Ghanaian broadcast journalist and news anchor with Multimedia Group Ltd (JoyNews Television), has shared his perspective on professional exits following the resignation of Vivian Kai Lokko as Head of News at Channel One TV and Citi FM, effective October 2, 2025.

Mr Laryea emphasized that the decision to resign is personal and often guided by information only the individual leaving possesses in a post on social media sighted by Lovinghananews.com.

“I’ve seen quite a number of posts regarding the exit of Vivian Kai Lokko from Citi FM/Channel

“One and everyone seems to have an opinion about the way she went about her exit. It’s fair to have your opinions, but please be minded, that she’s the one who had to take the decision and so had the benefit of the full facts that went into it,” he wrote.

Vivian Kai Lokko formally notified the organization in a resignation letter addressed to the HR Manager, stating; “I wish to formally resign from my position as Head of News at Channel One TV and Citi FM, effective 2nd October 2025.”

Laryea, reflecting on his own experience in the media industry, added; “Now, while I would advise against burning bridges on your way out, I’d also not want to pontificate to anyone who decides to do so until I’ve heard why they chose that option… My message is simple. Just don’t be in a hurry to pontificate.”

Vivian Kai Lokko has had a distinguished career, joining Citi FM/Citi TV in the early 2000s and rising to lead the newsroom.

She has been instrumental in election coverage, newsroom management, and guiding the station’s growth into television broadcasting.
