Citi News has gathered that the final report on the August 6 helicopter crash is expected to be submitted in the next two weeks. This follows the completion of a preliminary report, which is currently undergoing internal review.
The Z-9 helicopter crash, which occurred on August 6, claimed the lives of several senior government officials and triggered a full-scale investigation.
Among the deceased were Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation; Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; and Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC.
Also on board were Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of NADMO; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
Sources close to the investigation indicate that the team worked closely with aviation experts from China and other international and local institutions to decode the flight data recorders and analyse key technical components to establish the cause of the crash.
Details of the preliminary report remain classified pending the release of the final findings.
