Former Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency and now the General Secretary of the United Party, Yaw Boaben Asamoa, has indicated that the new political party is aiming to be the alternative to the duopoly.

According to him, the duopoly is currently driving the winner-takes-all system, which keeps crippling the country, and if something drastic is not done, Ghana will suffer the consequences.

“We aim to be the alternative, the alternative to the duopoly which is driving winner-takes-all and creating exclusion in public life,” he said at the launch of the United Party.

He further explained that the United Party will put the country at the helm of every decision and will work to ensure that the name of Ghana is high and above conflicting individual interests.

“The UP is here to unite Ghana. The motto of UP as you’ve heard already is Ghana First. Everything we do as a nation must focus on lifting the name of the country high and above conflicting individual interests,” he said at the launch of the political party.

He continued, “The UP wants a Ghana that includes everybody regardless of tribe, gender, status, or political standing. The UP will offer all of us a government of national unity. United Party is about the transformation of our political system, transformation in leadership, transformational policies and transformation of our national mindset from “cannot do” to “can do.”

Alan Kyerematen, today, October 16, 202,5 has launched the United Party from the Movement for Change.

He explains that the new political party will be dedicated to building a united, peaceful, secure, and prosperous Ghana.

Indicating that it will provide equal opportunities for all Ghanaians to realize their full potential.
