Boakye Antwi outlines digital agenda to transform NPP’s internal structure

Former Member of Parliament for the Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has pledged to usher the party into a new era of modernization and digital transformation.

In an interview on Joy News monitored by Lovinghananews.com, he emphasised his intention to move beyond traditional party management to establish systems that reflect efficiency, transparency, and forward thinking.

“I’m not only going to manage a party. I want to modernise it for the future,” he stated, noting that technology would play a central role in improving internal operations.

Boakye Antwi outlined plans to introduce a credible membership database, digitize party records, and create archives capturing the speeches and correspondence of past leaders from the UGCC to the present.

He lamented the absence of a structured digital record system, describing it as a gap that weakens institutional memory.

“We have to look for these speeches, all the letters, all the decisions. The ideas can always build up,” he said, referencing Dr. J. B. Danquah’s early warnings about financial sustainability and party organization.

For Boakye Antwi, modernization also means financial independence. He advocated for a system that compels party members, especially those holding government positions, to contribute dues consistently, arguing that a well-financed, self-reliant NPP would prevent overreliance on “friends and family” funding networks during election cycles.

“When the party takes its financial responsibilities seriously, 70 percent of the job is done,” he stressed, adding that modernisation is not a slogan but a survival strategy for a party in opposition seeking to return to power.
