A divided NPP is a defeated NPP — Boakye Antwi calls for unity ahead of 2028

Eugene Boakye Antwi has cautioned that the New Patriotic Party’s path back to power depends on unity, discipline, and respect among its members.

He observed that internal divisions and unrestrained rivalries had eroded the party’s public image and cost it electoral strength.

“A divided NPP is a defeated NPP. A united NPP is an unstoppable NPP,” the former Subin Constituency declared in an interview on Joy News monitored by Lovinghananews.com.

He urged aspirants in the ongoing presidential race to campaign with decorum, reminding them that the Ghanaian electorate is watching how the party conducts itself.

Boakye Antwi criticized the surge of personal attacks and character assassinations emerging from various campaign camps, describing them as politically self-destructive.

“We are not going to elect an angel or a saint. We are all human beings with flaws. But let’s focus on promoting our candidates’ strengths, not destroying one another,” he said.

He further appealed to the party’s five presidential hopefuls to uphold the NPP’s founding principles and avoid turning the contest into a battlefield.

“Once the people see that we are disciplined and ready for government, they will trust us again, like they did in 2000 and 2016,” he noted.

Boakye Antwi emphasized that unity was not merely a campaign theme but a political necessity.

“These contests are a test of vision, not character. After the race, we must find a team, not a battlefield,” he said, urging members to remember that their true rival is the National Democratic Congress (NDC), not one another.
