Former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga, has demanded protection from the state.
According to him, there was an assassination attempt on his life at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono Estates.
Atubiga, through his narrative, said he was able to escape only through divine intervention.
He has since left the country he once cherished because he feels unsafe and will return if he is assured of protection from the state.
The former member of the NDC in his post shared via social media on the matter disclosed that the Police apprehended 3 of the land guards who were sent to assassinate him.
“Fortunately, I escaped unharmed, thanks to divine intervention. The incident culminated in the apprehension of three suspects by the Ghana Police Service, following a swift response from my security team and an expertly executed maneuver by my driver, which enabled us to evade the hail of gunfire. I am still grappling with the fact that certain individuals would orchestrate such a heinous plot to eliminate me.”
