You must be both a lion and a fox to survive politics — Dr Botah

Dr. Elvis Botah reflected on the importance of perseverance and strategic leadership within political organisations, urging members to remain in their parties and address challenges rather than abandoning them.

“If you are a real leader, you stay and write the wrongs. Leaving after an election loss does not strengthen the party; it weakens it,” he said on Metro TV monitored by Lovinghananews.comr.

He contrasted constructive engagement with emotional exits, citing the 2024 election as an example.

“The NDC did not win because they were better; the NPP lost. Leaders should stay to ensure the party is built to expectations,” he explained.

Dr. Botah emphasized that political survival requires both caution and decisiveness.

“You must be both a lion and a fox. People who become despondent and acrimonious give no room to operate,” he said, highlighting the need for strategic thinking in navigating party politics.

He also noted that internal disputes should be managed through established party processes and that departures motivated by emotion risk damaging political reputations.

“It is sad when circumstances lead to unnecessary exits, but the party must focus on its long-term mission,” he concluded.
