His journey from a promising youth talent to one of the country’s most lethal forwards is a story of talent, resilience, and determination forged through hardship.
Osimhen was born in Lagos, specifically the Olusosun neighborhood and the youngest of seven children.

He lost his mother at a very young age, and shortly after, his father lost his job, plunging the family into deeper financial difficulty.
At one point, the family squeezed into a single room to survive.

Despite these challenges, Osimhen’s determination never wavered.
As a child, Osimhen sold sachet water in traffic, worked as a bus conductor, carried goods for neighbors, and even acted as an agent for roadside lotteries.
These experiences in Olusosun taught him resilience, hustle, and the value of hard work, shaping the character that would later define his career.
On the football pitch, Osimhen first made his mark with the Nigeria U17 team, wining them the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
His 10 goals in 7 games helped Nigeria lift the trophy and announced him as a funing them
He later progressed to the Nigeria U23 team, earning a call-up in March 2019 and scoring a hat-trick in a crucial qualifier against Libya.
Osimhen made his senior national team debut on June 10, 2017, against South Africa. Since then, he has become the key figure in the Super Eagles, climbing to the second spot on Nigeria’s all-time top scorers list.

He currently has 31 goals and 12 assists in 45 games, just 6 goals away from equalling Rashidi Yekini’s record.
Now, he is on the verge of qualifying Nigeria for the World Cup since 2018 and that would be his first World Cup for the Senior National team if it happens.

He tried in 2022 but Ghana stopped Nigeria.
From a boy navigating the harsh streets of Olusosun to a world-class footballer leading the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen’s journey reflects talent, perseverance, and a deep love for his country.
