Sadio Mané has opened up in an interview with Rio Ferdinand about the real reason behind his move from European football to the Saudi Pro League.
“First of all, I want to thank European football for giving me the platform to show my talent to the world. Long before I became a professional player, I made a promise to myself that 60% of whatever I earn from football would go back to my country. Helping the poor in Senegal has always been my dream. But the money I was making in Europe wasn’t enough to fully achieve that promise. That’s why I decided to leave European football for the Saudi Pro League, where I now play for Al Nassr. I needed to earn more so I can support my people back home.”
Sadio Mané truly remains a blessing to Senegal — a footballer whose success is deeply rooted in generosity and love for his country.
