The just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries have sparked a lot of debates, especially regarding failed prophecies some prophets made about favored aspirants, leading to shock and despair.

Apostle Anthony K. Manu (Spiritual CID), founder and leader of the Church of Divine Heart in Nkoranza, Bono East Region, expressed lamentation.

Some pastors predicted the NPP primaries would favor Ken Agyepong, while others favored Dr. Bryan Acheampong, but all failed. Apostle Manu chides the fake pastors for their failed prophecies, citing that it disgraces the true work of God.

“I am quoting from Jeremiah 23:23-32 emphasizing that Biblical teaching is believed to be true; several doomsday and unwarranted preachers have made predictions about election winners that have been lies in the eyes of God,” he stressed.

In an exclusive interview with Fabea FM, Apiah-Kubi reported that Apostle Manu said, “These types of people need to be penalized by the government for misguiding and misinforming the people as Matthew 7:15-22 says.”

The spiritual CID noted it was regrettable that some people still fell for such prophecies, adding that history is marked by failed doomsday predictions.

He called for checks on the misuse of religious freedom to mislead the public. “Elections are resulted in either win or lose, and not a dependent on spiritual matters, and pastors who involved in such prophecies should not be respected by any serious-minded Christian,” he said.

Apostle Manu further emphasized that false prophets are a menace, preying on vulnerable people’s hopes and fears for personal gain.

“They use manipulative tactics, twisting scriptures to fit their own agendas,” he added.

He urged Christians to be vigilant, discerning, and grounded in scripture to avoid being led astray.

The issue has sparked concerns about the need for stricter regulations on religious leaders and organizations, ensuring accountability for their actions and claims.
