The Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf John, has been recognised for his leadership and commitment to development with the prestigious Adaptability and Social Infrastructure Advocate Award from the World Diplomatic Federation.

The award was presented at the Minister’s office ahead of the main ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel.

Receiving the honour, Hon. Ali Adolf John expressed gratitude to the organisers, describing the recognition as both an honour and a renewed call to duty. He noted that the award reflects the collective efforts of his team, development partners, and the people of the Northern Region.

“This recognition is a shared achievement. It belongs to the hardworking staff, stakeholders, and the people of the Northern Region whose cooperation continues to drive our development agenda,” he stated.
The Minister underscored the importance of adaptability in governance, stressing that effective leadership requires innovation, flexibility, and responsiveness to emerging challenges.

He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies that address the needs of communities across the region.

Highlighting key development priorities, Hon. Ali Adolf John pointed to ongoing interventions in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, water systems, and digital connectivity, particularly in underserved communities, as central to his administration’s agenda.

He emphasised that expanding access to these services is crucial to reducing inequality and promoting inclusive growth.
“Our focus is to build a region where opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of background or location,” he added.

The Minister also acknowledged other awardees from the region, including Tamale Mayor Abubakari Adam Takoro, Tatale-Sanguli District Chief Executive Mary Tagba, Tamale South MP Haruna Iddrisu, Tamale North MP Alhassan Suhuyini, and Sagnarigu MP Atta Issah.

He noted that the awardees remain committed to advancing development in the region, not for recognition, but to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of the people.

Hon. Ali Adolf John further assured that he and his colleagues would continue to serve with integrity and dedication, while avoiding any actions that could undermine the progress and well-being of the people.

Despite progress made, he acknowledged persistent challenges such as youth unemployment, rapid urbanisation, and climate vulnerabilities, calling for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to address them sustainably.

The Minister dedicated the award to the people of the Northern Region, commending their resilience and support, and reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that development initiatives translate into tangible benefits.

The upcoming summit is expected to bring together key personalities from across the country to celebrate leadership, innovation, and service, with Hon. Ali Adolf John’s recognition placing him among notable contributors to Ghana’s development.
