Three people, including a teacher and two university students, have been jailed for their roles in exam malpractice during the 2025 WASSCE.
The Kasoa-Ofaakor District Magistrate Court handed them a combined 20-month sentence.
Samuel Armah, a teacher at Ghana College SHS and an invigilator during the exams, was caught with leaked Social Studies answers on his phone, which he dictated to candidates.
He was fined 80 penalty units and sentenced to eight months in prison.
Two Level 100 students — Kwame Oteng Nkansah of Accra Technical University and Amedeka James of the University of Ghana — were each jailed for six months and fined 80 penalty units after being arrested for impersonating candidates.
James had posed as his twin brother, Amedeka Justice.
Awutu Senya East MCE, Seth Sabah Sewornoo-Banini, who visited one of the centres, admitted lapses in seating arrangements and promised stricter measures.
Municipal Education Director Frank-Etrue Hayford also condemned the malpractice, stressing the need to protect the credibility of the WASSCE.
