Delayed National Service: We are procuring a new platform for posting – Youth Development Minister

    Mr George Opare Addo

The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has stated that a new App is being procured for posting of National Service personnel for the 2025/2026 year.

He revealed that the existing platform for posting personnel has been abandoned because it is fraught with irregularities.

Mr Oapre Addo disclosed this in an interview with 3news on September 9, 2025.

“We have not done much with respect to postings this year because just when the app was opened, his excellency instructed that we should suspend it and do some further investigations. As I speak, the App is still closed. We are in the process of procuring a new platform for posting to be done on. So, we are yet to do anything significant in that respect,” he explained.

The Minister assured that despite the delay, prospective candidates will surely undertake the service.

“I will urge the students to be a little more patient. We want to assure them that their service is not going to be disrupted. The Board and Management are working to ensure that the new App is deployed. If it must be done, it must be done well. They will do their service this year,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Acting Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Ruth Dela Seddoh, has disclosed that postings for potential national service personnel will be released by November 1, 2025.

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, she urged all eligible personnel to exercise patience as the system for postings is being reviewed and will be completed soon.

“The transition team has been put in place and the framework for the new system has been set up…I can assure any prospective personnel to calm down as by November 1 posting will be done,” she said.

Following an order by the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment for the NSA’s Central Management System (CMS) to be suspended in June due to integrity issues, more than 150,000 potential service recruits were uncertain and anxious about the next line of action.

Many were worried about their future as a result of the move, which halted this year’s postings.

On June 18, President John Mahama issued an order for an indefinite suspension of the CMS – a system responsible for NSS postings in order to conduct a thorough technical and forensic examination.

Since then, the Authority has undergone administrative changes as a result of the audit, with Felix Gyamfi, the former Acting Director reassigned to the Finance Ministry.
