Ghanaian midfielder Francis Abu has signed for Ligue 1 side Toulouse on a four-year deal.

“I am very happy to be here. I can’t wait to start this new challenge and join this beautiful family. I’m also looking forward to discovering the Pink City and meeting all the incredible supporters of the club”- Francis Abu.

The Ghanaian midfielder was previously playing for Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League before leaving.

Toulouse submitted a bid of around €2.5 million to secure Abu’s services, beating out competition from several other European clubs, including Premier League side Burnley and Italian clubs Torino and Genoa.

Abu, 24, has made 100 appearances for Cercle Brugge, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.

He has also earned six caps for the Black Stars since his debut in 2024.

After undergoing a medical examination in France, Abu is expected to finalize his move to Toulouse.

Francis Abu becomes the first Ghanaian to sign for Toulouse.
