Veteran broadcast journalist Nana Yaa Oforiwaa Amanfo, popularly known on air as Beposohemaa, has officially resigned from Power FM, a subsidiary of XYZ Broadcasting.

Sources within XYZ Broadcasting confirmed to TheOverseerOnline.com that Nana Yaa tendered her resignation letter to management this week. Interestingly, her departure was first announced live on air, before formal notice was delivered through a third party.

While she cited personal reasons for stepping down, credible sources within Jubilee House indicate that there is a strong possibility she will take up a role at one of Ghana’s diplomatic missions abroad. Though not officially appointed, the move is said to be highly likely.

Prior to this potential diplomatic posting, Nana Yaa was appointed to the Board of the Ghana Trade Fair Company. However, sources close to her revealed that she was reportedly not particularly enthused about the role, which may have influenced her decision to pursue other opportunities.

If her foreign assignment materializes, Nana Yaa would join a growing list of pro-NDC journalists who have transitioned into diplomatic or public service positions in recent Months

She joined XYZ Broadcasting in 2017 after working with Happy FM and Agoo FM in Kwahu. Over the years, she has earned recognition for her bold on-air presence, political insight, and deep connection with her audience.

Nana Yaa holds a Master’s degree in Media Management and Communications from the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC).
