The police officer who lost his life in the Nadowli accident on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 has been identified as Jonas Nornaa of the Jirapa Municipal Police Command.
Reports indicate that Officer Nornaa was on transfer to Techiman when the accident occurred.
He met his untimely death in Nadowli while en route to his new assignment.
“May his soul rest in peace,” mourners wrote on social media, sharing condolences alongside his picture.
Background of the accident
Earlier MyNewsgh confirmed that a road accident on the Jirapa–Wa highway claimed three lives, including a police officer.
Eyewitnesses shared on Facebook by Dickson Desire revealed that the crash happened when a passenger vehicle traveling from Jirapa to Techiman suffered a tyre burst.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the urvan bus to veer off course and crash violently.
Several other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the Nadowli health facility for emergency treatment.
