First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Lordina Mahama, will take center stage at a special prayer gathering dedicated to children as world leaders converge in New York for the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On Monday, 22 September 2025, she will deliver the keynote address at the 7th Annual Prayer Service for Children, organised by World Vision International in collaboration with global faith-based and humanitarian organisations.
The event is scheduled for 08:00 to 09:00 ET at the Church Center for the United Nations, Tillman Chapel.
This year’s service, themed “A Moment of Hope,” will focus on six pillars—compassion, resilience, purpose, joy, wisdom, and spiritual life, urging leaders to act on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children in the face of global crises.
“Mrs. Mahama’s invitation to speak underscores her unwavering commitment to children’s welfare, from healthcare and education to social protection,” the organisers noted.
Her long-standing advocacy has earned her recognition both in Ghana and abroad.
She will be joined by other distinguished speakers, including Rev. Andrew J. Morley, President and CEO of World Vision International, and Mrs. Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
