Ghana will on Monday, October 20, 2025, gather at the University of Ghana Sports Complex Park to commemorate the 40th day since the passing of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the visionary industrialist, innovator, farmer, herbalist, and spiritual leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.

The event, expected to draw thousands of mourners from across the country and beyond, will celebrate the life and legacy of a man whose contributions to industry, agriculture, technology, and spirituality transformed Ghana’s development landscape.

From pioneering locally manufactured vehicles and machinery to introducing advanced farming techniques and nurturing generations of inventors, Apostle Safo embodied innovation and self-reliance. His leadership within the Kristo Asafo Mission also inspired countless followers, promoting discipline, unity, and unwavering faith in God.

The commemoration is expected to attract several dignitaries, including the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the President of the Republic, former Presidents, a former Vice President, Members of Parliament, traditional rulers, and captains of industry. They will join former Dome Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo; her siblings, the Aduana Family of Essumangya, Asantemanso, and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission to pay tribute to the man whose impact transcended generations.

The ceremony will begin at 8am. with prayers, hymns, and tributes, and continue until 6pm. The family has requested red and black attire to signify mourning and respect.

As the nation pauses to honour Apostle Kwadwo Safo, affectionately known as the “Star of Africa”, his legacy as a preacher, scientist, innovator, and patriot continues to shine. His life’s work—through the Kantanka Group of Companies and Kristo Asafo Mission—proved that homegrown talent and vision could fuel national progress.

Born on August 26, 1948, Apostle Safo passed away on September 11, 2025. His pioneering inventions, including the Kantanka Omama SUV and Onantefo pickup truck, remain enduring symbols of African ingenuity and resilience.
