Harry Kane rubbished talk of a return to the Premier League after scoring his 100th goal for Bayern Munich on Friday.

Kane starred once again for the Bundesliga giants, scoring a brace in a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen at Allianz Arena to maintain their perfect start to their league campaign.

The England international reached a century of goals for Bayern in just 104 matches across all competitions, the quickest a player has hit the landmark for a team in Europe’s top five leagues in the 21st century.

It was a record previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland, who did so in 105 matches for Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively.

The 32-year-old also added another record to his collection with his 45th-minute penalty. He now holds the record for the most consecutive spot-kicks scored (18), exceeding Jorg Butt (1999 to 2001) and Robert Lewandowski (2013 to 2018), who both scored 17 in a row.

His performances for Bayern in 2025-26 have seen speculation gather about a possible move back to the Premier League through an exit clause in his contract, just two years after leaving Tottenham.

Yet Kane, whose deal with Bayern runs to 2027, insisted he was not thinking of a return at this stage.

“No, not at the moment. I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract,” he said. “I’m enjoying every moment.

“That is not in my thought process. I’m enjoying it with the team, with the coach, and, hopefully, we will continue to be successful.

“It’s crazy for me. It’s an honour to reach 100 goals for this great club. That also reflects on my team-mates and the coaching staff, who are helping me. It’s great to reach it this quickly.”

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany also took the time to laud Kane for his achievement.

“It was another great moment for Harry Kane,” he said. “The way he achieved this record and still puts in so much work for the team, I think that’s the inner hunger and desire he has.”

The Bavarian giants have won each of their opening eight competitive matches in a season for the first time since 2016-17 under Carlo Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, it also marks the first time they have won eight on the bounce under Kompany, who is delighted with the strides his players have made.

“I’m now in my second season here. Things are different to what they were in the first few months last season,” he added.

“It’s no longer about the basics because now they understand and know them. We can now focus on the details.

“When a player has to play in another position or another role, they immediately understand it because we’ve been working together for 16 months.”
