Kumasi-based second-hand goods dealer, James Dadzie, has emerged as the grand prize winner of a brand-new Hyundai Creta in the 13th edition of Telecel Ghana’s Dream Car Promo, the telco’s flagship SMS trivia campaign.

The prize presentation took place at the bustling Kasoa Market, where a large crowd gathered to witness the handover of the car. The event was filled with music, fanfare, and applause as Dadzie received his keys.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the father of two expressed gratitude to Telecel for the life-changing win.

“I am very excited. I still can’t believe I am driving home a brand-new car, all because I stayed active by answering the questions daily. This is truly a dream come true, and I thank Telecel for making it possible,” he said to loud cheers.

The Dream Car Promo, supervised by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) under its Caritas Lottery Platform, has been lauded for its transparency and fairness. The 13th cycle ran from February to July 2025, attracting thousands of subscribers across the country.

The campaign is open to all Telecel customers. By sending CAR to 2018 or dialing *2018#, participants subscribe to receive four daily trivia questions. Each correct answer earns 100 points, while incorrect answers secure 25 points. Weekly top scorers win up to GH₵2,000 in cash prizes, while the six-month overall top scorer drives away with a brand-new car.

Speaking at the ceremony, Aneth Muga, Telecel Ghana’s Director of Consumer Business, congratulated Dadzie and highlighted the company’s commitment to rewarding loyal customers.

“We are thrilled to celebrate another deserving winner in our Dream Car Promo. This campaign reflects our promise to give back to the people at the core of our business. It’s about rewarding engagement and loyalty, as well as creating opportunities for customers. We encourage all Ghanaians to join, as anyone could be our next big winner.”

Since its launch in 2018, the Dream Car Promo has rewarded customers with seven cars and six houses, in addition to cash prizes—transforming lives and generating excitement nationwide.

Dadzie, who previously worked as a long-haul truck driver before venturing into trading, revealed that a friend encouraged him to join the promo because of his love for lottery-style games.

“The Dream Car Promo is authentic, and everyone should join because they could also walk away with a brand-new car like I just did,” he said.

The 14th cycle of the Dream Car Promo kicked off in August 2025 and runs until January 2026, continuing Telecel’s tradition of blending customer engagement with life-changing rewards.
