Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has settled the medical bills of a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly tied to a motorcycle and dragged through the streets of North Legon by his father in an incident that triggered widespread public outrage.
The teenager, identified as Joseph Martey, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the University of Ghana Hospital for emergency treatment following the incident.
According to reports, the case was brought to the attention of the Madina Divisional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), after which the Divisional Commander, ASP Dorison Tackyiwaah, contacted the Madina MP for support.

The legislator also donated GH¢3,000 to Joseph’s mother to support the family during the recovery process.
As part of measures to aid the boy’s rehabilitation, arrangements have also been made for daily professional psychological counselling sessions to support his emotional and mental well-being, alongside continued medical reviews and wound care treatment.
Lawyer Belinder Narkey Quaynor of F-X Law and Associates, who accompanied Dr. Sosu during the intervention, is also assisting with aspects of the case.
The incident, which has generated widespread concern on social media, has renewed conversations around child protection, domestic abuse and the need for stronger intervention mechanisms to safeguard vulnerable children.
Meanwhile, Joseph is said to be responding positively to treatment and remains under medical care.
