Traffic on a section of the N6 dual carriageway between Ofankor and Nsawam will remain diverted as rehabilitation works on the corridor continue.

The closure of the main carriageway is to facilitate asphalt works on a 2-kilometre stretch from Ofankor to White House, under the ongoing Ofankor–Nsawam Dual Carriageway Rehabilitation Project.

As a result, motorists will be diverted onto the service road from the Ofankor Overpass to White House for the duration of the works.

In a public notice, the project team said enabling works at Ofankor—which required a night-time closure of the N6 on Saturday, December 6—had been completed. However, the main road from Ofankor to White House will remain closed from Monday, December 8, to Sunday, December 14, 2025, to allow the asphalt programme to proceed.

The team expressed appreciation for public cooperation during the earlier closure of the Neoplan section on December 6 and appealed for continued patience as construction advances.

“We appreciate your support during the closure of the road from Neoplan on 6th December 2025 and seek your cooperation for the continuation,” the statement said.

Motorists have been advised to follow directional signs placed along the route, with the project team expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.

The latest diversion follows an earlier traffic rerouting announced by Maripoma Enterprise Limited, contractors for the Ofankor–Nsawam project, affecting the Nsawam-bound lane from Achimota Neoplan to Pokuase between 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, to enable similar asphalt works.

The Ofankor–Nsawam Dual Carriageway Rehabilitation Project aims to enhance safety and improve traffic flow along the major arterial corridor.
