Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has assured the public that the recruitment of personnel into the various services under the Interior Ministry will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

Addressing the press on Friday, November 14, the Minister sought to allay fears that undue influence or “protocol” could override the recruitment process to the disadvantage of genuinely qualified candidates.

He also dismissed claims suggesting that recruits had already been pre-selected, insisting that such rumours were false and intended to mislead the public.

The Minister urged the public to report anyone claiming they can facilitate recruitment through illegal means, adding that the Ministry will establish clear channels through which such complaints can be lodged.

“Let me emphasise that the recruitment process will be free and fair. The system will select qualified candidates based on merit. It is not true that selection have already began as some have claimed. I can tell you on my honour and I can assure you that under the watch of H.E John Dramani Mahama, this will not happen. Nothing has started.

“Nobody will call you today will call you to tell you that there is some other route that can be used through to get to this recruitment. We are going to create possible lanes where you can make complaints and even if you have recordings of those people, if you give us, we will be able to track the person and deal with perpetrators,” he stated.
