Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufour, was the residence of the Rawlings’ to commiserate with them on their loss.

While exchanging pleasantries with the son of the late Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Kimathi Rawlings, he acknowledged his resemblance to his father.

He told Kimathi Rawlings that in one of his interactions with their late mother, he told her that her genes did not do any magic for her.

The former president said Nana Konadu, although she agreed that all her children took after their father, there are some features of hers that they took after.

His conversation struck a chord in Kimathi Rawlings and left him smiling throughout the period.

“In one of my conversations with your mother, I told her that you are a faithful wife, and she said, ‘Why?’ And I said, “Look at the children,” the former President is heard saying in a conversation with Kimathi.

He continued, “You look so much like your dad, if you had gained the height…” Then she said, “You people look like her, too”.

Kimathi used the opportunity to thank the former president for his time with them.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings died on October 23, 2025, after a short illness. She died at the Ridge Hospital.

Since her passing, the president of Ghana has announced three days of mourning in her memory with flags flying at half-mast.
