Wendy Shay is setting the record straight after a viral moment at the Ga Mantse’s palace sparked conversation.
Speaking on Okay FM, the singer explained that her refusal of the drink offered to her wasn’t an act of disrespect — she was simply following strict medical instructions.
According to her, her visit was purely out of respect for traditional authority, especially since she was performing on the Ga Mantse’s land for the third time.
“I do believe everything has a head… a leader. So you need to give that respect,” she said.
She further clarified that the drink wasn’t water but Schnapp — and because of medication she was taking at the time, her doctor had warned her to avoid all alcohol.
