A Ghanaian woman has lost GH¢41,000 after falling victim to an online scam involving fraudsters posing as the popular fast-food brand, ChickenMan PizzaMan.
In a tearful video shared online, she explained that she and her sister searched Google to order food, unknowingly contacting scammers who had created a fake business listing and a cloned website that looked authentic.
After placing an order and entering a code she believed was part of the process, the fraudsters allegedly gained access to her sister’s bank and mobile money accounts and emptied them.
The victim revealed that the stolen money was meant to pay for their late father’s funeral, leaving the family devastated and uncertain about their next steps.
The incident has sparked outrage and renewed calls for caution when ordering from businesses online.
