National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia, has responded to claims by some elements in the opposition that John Dramani Mahama wants to amend the constitution to allow for a third term for himself.
According to him, the NDC has never run the party in ways that conflict with the national constitution.
He says the party will stick to the country’s constitution and will not do anything to hamper the constitution.
“We have never run our party in ways that conflict with the national constitution, and we don’t intend doing that. We will stick by the tenets of the Constitution,” he said in an interview with Channel 1 Media.
On his presidential ambition, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said he will not openly speak to the matter.
He believes that the government should be left to do its work to succeed rather than focus on the ambitions of individuals.
The man popularly called General Mosquito believes that if focus is given to who will succeed John Dramani Mahama in the NDC, the current government may fail, and that will affect their chances in the 2028 election.
