Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has expressed disappointment over a reported GHS 123.82 royalty notification, describing it as a painful reflection of how creatives are valued in the industry. In an emotional post, the artiste highlighted the creativity, sleepless nights, studio bills, promotions, and years of dedication behind his music, stressing that such an amount raises serious concerns about fairness.
“This is not just a notification; it’s a loud question mark on how our music is valued and how creatives are treated,” he said, adding that while artistes create out of love for the craft, love alone should not be the payment. Fancy Gadam urged the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GMRO) to improve its processes and do better for musicians.
